MANILA, Philippines – Former actor John Wayne Sace was arrested on Tuesday, October 29, for his alleged involvement in the murder of a 43-year-old man named Lynell Eugenio.
Sace, who is 35 years old, allegedly killed the male victim by shooting him four times with a .45 caliber pistol, according to a report by GMA News’ Emil Sumangil. The incident was said to have taken place on the evening of Monday, October 28, in Barangay Sagad, Pasig City.
Hours after the shooting, the former star was captured in a nearby hotel and taken into custody at the Pasig City Police Headquarters.
Sace then underwent a paraffin test at the Eastern Police District, as police recovered the weapon that Sace allegedly used to murder the 43-year-old victim. A paraffin test is often administered to determine the presence of gunpowder residue on a shooting suspect’s hands.
According to Pasig police, there were already past conflicts between Sace and Eugenio. However, further details have yet to be disclosed.
In 2016, Sace was involved in a separate shooting incident, where two unidentified men suddenly approached him and his companion, Erik Sabino, and shot them. Both Sace and Sabino were rushed to the hospital, but only Sace survived.
John Wayne Sace is a former actor who appeared in several films and teleseryes, such as Spirits, Guns and Roses, May Bukas Pa, and Tabing Ilog, among others. He was awarded Best Child Performer at the Metro Manila Film Festival in 2002 for his performance in Dekada ’70.
He was also a member of AnimE, a dance group with brothers Rayver and Rodjun Cruz, Mhyco Aquino, Sergio Garcia, Emman Abeleda, and Mico Aytona. – Rappler.com
