MANILA, Philippines – With two days left in the year, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday, December 30, is set to sign the government’s 2025 budget bill into law.
The last few weeks have been crunch time for Malacañang, as it tried to “regain control” of the upcoming year’s budget amid criticism over the approved version created by a Marcos-allied Congress.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin earlier said Marcos will be using his veto power in certain items of the general appropriations bill “in the interest of public service.”
