STI ramps up expansion with new Alabang campus

MANILA, Philippines – Billionaire Eusebio Tanco is opening a new STI campus in Alabang by 2026.

In a disclosure to the exchange on Thursday, February 13, Tanco’s STI Education Systems Holdings Incorporated said the STI Academic Center Alabang will offer senior high school programs and degree programs such as Information Technology, Business & Management, Hospitality Management, and Tourism Management.

The 8-storey campus will have modern facilities and recreational spaces, including a basketball court. Classrooms will be fitted with a flat-screen TV, while activity centers will have internet connectivity.

“This new campus in Alabang reflects our commitment to creating a conducive learning environment that empowers students with relevant skills, knowledge, and character,” STI president and chief operating officer Peter Fernandez said.

STI broke ground for the building on Tuesday, February 11. The company is allocating P950 million to build it.

STI Academic Center Alabang will be on a property spanning 3,266 square meters — big enough for 10,000 students — in South Park District in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

The new campus will add to STI’s network of academic centers across the country. STI also has campuses in Legazpi, Pasay-EDSA, Sta. Mesa, San Jose del Monte, Lipa, Batangas City, Las Piñas, Calamba, Cubao, Lucena, Caloocan, Ortigas-Cainta, Novaliches, Fairview, Naga, and Bonifacio Global City.

The Alabang campus will also be instrumental as demand for STI’s educational programs have increased in the past year.

According to its latest financial report filed with the stock exchange last November 2024, the total enrollees in its schools across the country reached a record 138,060 for school year 2024 to 2025.

This played a big role in boosting the private school network’s financials.

STI booked a net income of P263.2 million from July to September 2024, representing a 1,233% increase from the same period in 2023. Its gross profit also jumped to P706.2 million from P377.7 million.

“As we continue to expand and enhance our campuses nationwide, we remain steadfast in our mission to build stronger foundations in education,” Fernandez said.

“From our facilities to our curriculum and services, we are committed to nurturing students who will become competent, responsible, and impactful members of society.”

Aside from STI, Tanco also owns the fast-growing gaming company DigiPlus. – Rappler.com
