ROME, Italy – Priests, nuns and devout civilians gathered on Saturday, February 22, outside Rome’s Gemelli hospital, where Pope Francis is being treated for double pneumonia.

The 88-year-old pontiff was admitted to hospital on February 14 after experiencing difficulty in breathing for several days. Earlier on Saturday the Vatican issued a very brief statement to say the pope had “rested well” overnight.
His medical team has given mixed signals about his health, telling reporters on Friday, February 21, that while he was not out of danger, he did not have a life-threatening condition at present.
As the doctors predicted he would remain in hospital “at least” through the coming week, all the pope’s public engagements have been canceled through Sunday, including the usual weekly Angelus prayer. – Rappler.com
