In October 2024, one of the three local partners of South Korean firm Miru pulled out of the joint venture on the P18-billion contract awarded by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for the delivery of new automated counting machines for the 2025 elections.
The withdrawal came after the Comelec issued an ultimatum against the firm — a public works contractor named St. Timothy Construction.
