MANILA, Philippines – He is risen!

Christians from across the globe rejoice as they remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, April 20.

In the Philippines, Catholics kick off the religious celebration through the “Salubong” (meeting) — a predawn procession symbolizing a joyful encounter between Jesus Christ and his mother, Mary.

Beyond the usual Easter egg hunts, communities across the Philippines take pride in unique local traditions that mark the festive religious occasion.
